Welcome to 100 Poems—a cozy space where you can share your own poetry, learn by doing, create in community with others, and receive support and gentle accountability.

How does this work?

I’ve set the intention to write and share 100+ poems in 2024. Twice a week, subscribers will receive a poem from me. Typically, a poem will come with a bit of prose attached—like a prompt for you to play with or an exploration of some aspect of craft or creativity. Every now and then, when I come across a particularly helpful, inspiring, or relevant essay from other poets on Substack, I’ll cross-post that here, too. The comments thread for each of my posts is where I expect the real magic to happen, though—magic that I hope to co-create with you. I hope you’ll meet me there!

Join me in writing and sharing 100 poems this year by posting your own poems in the comments. Or just aim for one poem a month. Or one poem ever! Or simply read through the comments and let someone know how their poetry impacts you. There’s no wrong way to do this (except by being a jerk to others in the comments—please don’t do that). Writing can be a lonely endeavor, but it doesn’t have to be. Let’s play together!

What’s the difference between a paid and a free subscription?

For now, there’s no difference—except that if you choose to pay for a subscription, you’ll:

  • Help me to feel warm and fuzzy and appreciated

  • Support the hours I spend each week writing poems, sharing prompts, and nourishing community through the comments thread.

  • Help fund my participation in educational opportunities (like poetry workshops) so that I can continue to grow as a writer.
